My Purpose
I was blessed to discover my purpose early in life—a moment as vivid today as it was back then. It happened during my Aunt’s birthday, in the vibrant community of Trinidad where I grew up. At just 11 years old, I wanted to give her something special, so I gathered my few pennies and stopped a bakery van that passed through our village every evening. Trinidad was a place of many wonders, but the bakery van was one of our daily luxuries. I couldn’t afford much, but I carefully wrapped the Coconut Bake I bought in brown paper and gifted it to my Aunt.

My Why
Her reaction remains etched in my memory. The joy on her face, the warmth in her voice—it was in that moment that I realized my purpose. My purpose isn’t just about giving, but about creating moments of happiness, recognizing the little things that matter, and reminding people they are seen and valued.
That purpose has guided me every step of the way—especially as I stand here, committed to serving the people of Washington, D.C. Our city is home to countless stories and struggles, big and small, and I believe in amplifying every voice. Many walk through life carrying unseen burdens, silenced by the fear of judgment or the distractions of daily life. As Mayor, I aim to foster a community where openness and understanding thrive—a city that listens deeply, cares unconditionally, and acts boldly.
Why Choose Regan
My message to Washingtonians is simple: You matter. Your voice is powerful. Every single one of you has the ability to create change—whether it’s in your neighborhood, your family, or even the world.
I take inspiration from leaders like Princess Diana of Wales, whose legacy taught me the value of unconditional love and empathy. Her example pushed me to dedicate myself to building meaningful connections—whether through heart-to-heart conversations or transformative initiatives that spark positive change. That’s the spirit I bring to this campaign: a vision for a Washington, D.C., where dignity, fairness, and opportunity define us.
